Je suis Charlie
Hello Mom ,
I am sure you have heard about the shootings in Paris. Im just writing to reassure you that I am fine. Right now I am sitting in my hotel in Marseille, miles away from the shooting , watching the news. This if very tragic and I am sending my blessings to the families who lost someone in the shooting. It happened on wednesday the 6th during the day. The shooting took place in the 11th arrondissement near my apartment in Paris. It just takes 9 minutes to drive by car from the 4th to the 11th arrondissement. 12 people unfortunately lost their lives and the shooters were reported to have gotten away in a car. It is said that 2 of the shooters were brothers and they still have not found out how the 3rd shooter is connected to this. The cartoonists and the editor of this issue were killed. Along with 2 policemen and many other people who worked for the paper. . France is in mourning and people are either in their homes watching the TV or out on the streets holding signs saying Je suis Charlie. I think this did not need to happen France has freedom of speech and all the newspaper was doing was expressing there feelings and opinions of the Muslim culture. It may not have been right what they said but the shooters did not need to resort to killing human beings. Anyways, other than Charlie Hebdo attack I am doing fine and enjoying my time in Marseille.
